I want to get right into some of the things that I like about X Mind. I’ve got quite a few things, so we’ll go through the list. I might hopefully try to touch on most stuff.
Features and Tools:
Subtopic:
When you hit the enter key what it does, it opens up a subtopic just below where we are so we can put a new topic.
Child Mode:
The tab goes one lower it has a child mode to things. Hit tab, and we’re good to go. Also, you can have a new note.
Simple Layout:
It has a straightforward layout; it makes it’s intuitive; also, it makes a lot of sense. Also, it has a clean design too. X mind is not too much; it’s not too little.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
You’ll like the intuitive keyboard shortcuts. I love having control-c control-v I like having F2 to renames things. All the keys do the rate things that are used to if you’re used to, and kind of word or Microsoft products; this stuff works; that’s why there’s the zero learning curve.
Copy & Paste:
You can copy and paste things into a Tab document. What I mean by this is you go over to the X mind; the main node hit ctrl C and copy the entire mind map Now go over to word or any other app and paste it in. What happens is every time you do this, you can see that everything is either 1 or 2 or whatever tabs in so you can take something that’s already been tabbed in a Word document. You could copy it and paste it into any app.
Illustrate:
Illustrate what it does when you click on things this is going to do a drill-down. What a drill down the f6 is it takes that, and now it makes that the main node. The idea behind this is that you can choose one topic out of a vast mind map and focus on it. Work on that, and then all you do is you can adjust. You look at the linker is I think it’s Shift or alt f6 and takes you right back to the main one.
Home Map:
The other thing I like is that X mind has a home map. What a home map means is that every time you open X mind, it’s going to come to your main map. They might have your goals, your actions, and your projects on it. I love this feature; it just opens it and starts working.
Arithmetic Signs:
Intuitively, you’ve got the plus sign, minus, the multiplication, and division signs. What these will do is that the minus sign shrinks the note that makes sense. The plus sign opens its word gets cool is that if I hit the multiplication, it’ll open everything below this point; if you hit the division, it’ll close everything up to this point.
